We are committed to ensuring young people in times of crisis are safe and supported and with our hard working support staff guiding them and building them up we strive to promote independent living and confidence.

Our Story

Whitehaven Community Trust was founded and setup in 1990 to directly address the needs within an area of high deprivation. We are a flexible and diverse charitable organisation that delivers socially relevant projects to benefit the local community.

Our main commitments is tackling the social social disadvantages, reducing the impact associated with homelessness, poverty, health and wellbeing throughout our district of Cumberland and beyond.

Over the past 34 years, the Trust has successfully brought new innovative projects to the town centre for the benefit of the local community as well as currently operating the Lowther Street Hostel, Bakewell House Mother and Baby Hostel as well as the Smith House and Wulstan Hall "Move-on" flats.
